2. What Data We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Account data: Email address and authentication information when you create an account.
  • Usage data: Study sessions, exam results, chapter progress, and interaction with AI features.
  • Purchase data: Transaction records processed via Apple App Store and Google Play. We do not store full payment card details.
  • Device data: Device type, operating system, and app version for debugging and analytics.
  • Email signups: If you sign up for early access on our website, we store your email address.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Provide and improve the Danify app and services
  • Personalize your study experience using AI
  • Process purchases and manage subscriptions
  • Send transactional emails and (with consent) product updates
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve the product
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. Legal Basis (GDPR)

We process your data under the following legal bases:

  • Contractual necessity: To provide the app and services you signed up for.
  • Legitimate interests: For analytics, security, and product improvement.
  • Consent: For marketing emails and optional analytics cookies.
  • Legal obligation: Where required by law.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data with:

  • Supabase: Our database and authentication provider.
  • OpenAI / Anthropic: For AI-generated explanations and hints (no personal identifiers sent).
  • RevenueCat: For subscription and purchase management.
  • Google Analytics: Anonymized website analytics (with consent).
  • Meta (Facebook, Instagram): When you accept cookies, we send conversion event data (newsletter signups, page views) to Meta (Facebook, Instagram) so we can measure how our advertising performs. Email addresses are SHA-256 hashed before transmission. Decline cookies to opt out.
  • Google Ads: When you accept cookies, we send conversion event data (newsletter signups, page views) to Google Ads so we can measure how our advertising performs. Email addresses are SHA-256 hashed before transmission. Decline cookies to opt out.
  • Apple / Google: For App Store and Play Store purchases.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting hello@danify.dk.

7. Your Rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to: access your data, correct inaccuracies, request deletion, restrict or object to processing, and data portability. Contact us at hello@danify.dk to exercise any of these rights.

8. Children's Privacy

Danify is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification.

10. AI Features and Automated Content

Danify uses the third-party AI providers listed under Data Sharing to generate study content and to power in-app hints and explanations. We do not send personal identifiers to these providers to generate content. AI-generated content is labeled where it appears.
